What We Do

TSP was founded in 2011 by author  Matthew A. Petti who wanted a fresh alternative to POD and vanity publishing. The advent of the POD model changed the book industry by giving authors the chance to become published, but most first-time authors aren't aware of the ins and outs of the so called "self-publishing" game. 

The fact is, authors are not really self-publishing with POD and vanity imprints. Authors pay exorbitant fees for services that can be much less expensive without a middle-man. Most often, they are left with smaller royalties after the "self-publishing companies" take their share for publishing. The model is not built on the author's   success because profits are made on the front end with a proportion of royalties automatically deducted. POD publishers seek quantity not quality. 

The traditional route has also changed quite a bit in the last 20 years. Marketing is becoming more and more the author's responsibility, especially in the smaller houses.   The evolution of many small publishers has come on the heels of advances in the book printing, sales and distribution system. 

The big name publishers gobble up the successful authors while using their large distribution networks to get books on the shelves. Unless you've written a good book that gets maximum notoriety, the chances are slim in getting picked up by big-name publisher. The dilemma is that many really good books are going unnoticed because of the countless books written and introduced by the POD industry. It's an overload of information.

If we want to be a successful author today, we must do everything ourselves.  We cannot rely on POD companies any longer. Marketing, branding and publicity are the keys to becoming a successful author, but the product and presentation must be good! How can we assure ourselves that our book is marketable?
